So is it reasonable to expect 400whp NA with the following?

1) Stroker kit to 298ci
2) Heads
3) Cams
4) LTs and O/R pipe
5) UDPs
6) Delete plates
7) CAI and tune
If you use the BBR stage II cams, I would say you would be nudging 400rwhp

Brenspeed is offering a new set of cams which are labeled NSR no springs required, this makes the installation easier. I believe his site has the details on h.p. gains and install price. I think it is under the tech section, cams and install for under 1000.00. His site also says they're developing a set of cams for the Saleen S/C, should be interesting. NSR means he will use your existings springs.

So around 400 whp on a NA car.

Obviously it would cost more than slapping on a twin screw but . . .

Keeping it NA might be the way to go for the road racer. It will be 100+ lbs lighter and not suffer from heat soak and not strain the internals as much.

I did a set of Comp stage 3's for a guy running an 05 in the American Iron series. He had to detune to 325 h/p to keep it within the rules for the class. Powerwise other than the cams, he had a CAI, Long tubes, UDP's and 4:56 gears.

If we did buy heads for our cars, is it worth it? or would you get similar gains by reporting and polishing the stock heads...?

How much better are the BBR cams compared to Crower stage II's? They seem to have the same durations and lift measurements. Am I completely wrong or what?

I am glad the n/a mods are starting to be explored. I am aware of the advantages (and great track record) of forced-induction on these cars, but something still appeals to me about building a 298 and staying n/a. I must be nuts!
