Default Opinions Convert to Auto and keep my car?

I have been trying to tell my car for a couple of months now mostly due to not being able to drive it as much as I've spent money on it and also because its a manual transmission and only I am able to drive the car making it very inconvienent for me and my fiance who drives an automatic GTO. Both cars are very nice and I am partial to my mustang...since I would say this is probably one of the biggest reasons I am selling the car would you guys think it would benefit me more by trying to trade someone their automatic setup for my manual setup? I'm sure this is possible because people do it all the time, but I also don't want to drop a ton of money to do the conversion...if the car was a 2005 GT or later would the swap be more or less doable with minimal cost other than labor? I thought maybe some of you might have looked into converting to an auto for drag racing and could shed some light on the swap?

You could do it, as other have already done it.. It would be a lot of work because you have wiring harness changes and PCM to either re-program or replace. If you found someone parting out an S197 automatic it would be reasonably priced to get all the parts to go with a %r55S automatic. It would affect your resale value though I imagine.

I mean I wouldn't be worried so much with resale if I were going to keep the car for the long haul...I just think the only way to make the swap work would be to find someone that actually wanted a manual and I could get their automatic...is there any difference in the drive shaft between the manual and automatic?
