Default Bassani vs. Flowmaster

I have an 05 GT with a Bassani axle back exhaust and a Pypes o/r x. The car sounds very good but sounds like a machine gun is going off when I shift from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. Other then that its very loud and sounds good. I have always liked the Flowmaster sound but the American Thunder system for the new stangs is not loud enough for me. I will be ordering some Super 40 or Super 44 flowmasters pretty soon and will be making my own exhaust for my stang. I will be putting the Bassani system on e-bay. I will let you know how the new Flowmasters sound as soon as I am finished.

O/R X and flows is the way to go...if you want a raspy sounding exhaust.

I'm new here! Recently I got an '05 that I have been longing for, it's exactly what I want but the exhaust isn't QUITE loud enough for me, I want just a little more volume-but not so much that I get a headache when I drive for a long time. I prefer the lower, growly tone, so would a Flowmaster be the way to go? A guy close to me quoted the parts at $375, for axle back. A rip-off or no?

Look in the classified section of various mustang forums. You will find much better deals. If you want low, growling tone, get FRPP/Borla stingers, Bassani street or race, Pypes midmuffler, or Maganpacks. It might be in this forum someone is selling Borla stingers for $350. In the S197forum, a seller is selling bassani's for $350. $375 for Flowmasters is a ripoff. The above mentioned exhaust are better sounding IMO.

Its all a matter of taste...I personally love my Bassanis and prefer them to the oldschool Flomaster sound, but thats just me. I encourage you to go on youtube and listen to all you can find...thats how I made my choice
