What's the difference between Gen I and Gen II? How can someone tell the difference?

When were Gen I and Gen II introduced?

The gen 2 came out sometime last year and is more efficient and puts more HP to the ground than the gen 1 at the same boost levels.

I had my Whipple installed this summer. The serial number is 140-3899. Gen I or Gen II?

I won't be happy if it's a Gen I!!
