Anyone conquered the dreaded "Gear Rollover" noise?

since you have a hurst shifter with a poly bushing more NHV is going to be transmited through the shifter. as long as it isnt vibrating hard its not an issue. also our shifters are predisposed to get more NVH just from design. you wouldnt notice it with the factory rubber shifter.

I just got my car back from the dealer today and as I was driving home I thought about this thread. I can notice the gear noise that you are talking about. Now that I think about it I changed tranny fluid to Royal Purple about 3 months ago and it quieted it down quite a bit. I just figured that if I got it quieted down that it was just normal gearbox noise. You know there is no sound deading material at all in these cars and I hear just about as much road noise as anything. When you put your hand on the shifter that is when I become more aware of it.

After a couple of months I noticed that my shifter has gotten a metal to metal rattle in it. I backed the shift stops off some and that helped out but has not totally cured my problem. If I am accelerating quickly in third or fifth I get the rattle.

search for shifter ratlle in the hurst and there are a few fixes out there to cure the rattle. its a common problem in the hurst
