Tell me about it!! I'm gonna go back with a picture of the exact parts I want installing.... because I had this issue with my exhaust, axle back stingers and the same guy told me $250.... must be my accent confusing him!

Yeah I had all tyhe parts and my dealer said $800 so I said take a hike. I ofund a great tranny and diff shop that did the labor, gear oil, and synthetic conditioner for teh seals for 292 out the door. I had purchase my frpp gears and install kit from brenspeed for just uner 300. SO I did it all 200 cheaper than the dealer wanted just for the labor.

I ordered 410A gears from www.latemodelrestoration.com for $149 and they came with a crush sleeve, pinion nut, and some shims. I had also bought an install kit at the same time because I didn't know what was needed and didn't know the FRPP kit came with stuff. I would of been better off just getting the gears and letting the install shop supply what wasn't included.
every vehicle that ive had regeared that i owned had motive gears in it, and i never had a problem with them.

i was quoted $300 for 3.73 and a DTT install from a local place.

I would still stay with FRPP gears...a lil more expensive but well worth it for the fit and easy install. SOme shops wont even install Motives, the guy I went to wouldnt. BUt I didnt care cause I got my kit from Brenspeed and it was all FRPP. shop around, gears isnt the place I would cut corners on...sometimkes the extra 40 to 50 is worth it.

I would RUN away from any place that said they wont install motives, you will find them in a good 80% of cars at ths strip, there is nothing wrong with motive gears if your installer is smarter then the average monkey, if they whine, bring it back and tell them to set another thousanth or two to loosen backlast

just because one person had a bad install doesnt mean the whole company only makes junk
