Default 3rd Gear Issue.....

Ive got an 07 Gt w/ 4.10s, aluminum driveshaft, pro 5.0 super shifter, custom exhaust, JLT II, custom dyno tune (290 hp 305 torque/Mustang Dyno) etc...The problem I am having is that whenever I make a hard shift to 3rd....mostly at higher rpms, Im getting a grind. Sometimes it will slide right in, and sometimes it takes that second punch to get it in there.

In my opinion if it was the syncro that was causing the problem, it would grind almost everytime I went to 3rd...correct me if Im wrong. So my thoughts are is that the motor is just tweaking over a bit when ever Im on it hard, and doing the same thing but in the opposite direction whenever I let off to shift, therefore misaligning the remote mount shifter and not letting it slide in. Do I just need to replace my stock motor mounts with some polys? Possibly the tranny too? Maybe even add on a torque limiter. Keep in mind I am able to pull a 12.8 with this shifter issue.

Please let me know your opinions on this issue, its becoming very irritating and I dont even like to play anymore because I dont want to tear it up anymore than it already might be.

you might be a candidate for the
CHE K-Member with torque limiters.

it's such an inexpensive mod, that
if it doesn't solve your problem
you're only out a minimal amount

to me this sounds like a synchro problem, BUT like hammeron said you can try the k-member with torque limiters.... i am currently having the same issue with 2nd gear and i have purchased the k-member and torque limiters to hopefully fix the problem.... the reason i say it could be a synchro problem is the fact that i had to have my transmission replaced after my 3rd gear synchro went out with only a few thousand miles on my car....
