Did the knock on startup begin after the oil change? Do you know what weight oil they used?

Is the "dragging chain" sound there at idle? When you accelerate? Under both light and heavy acceleration? The more info you can provide, the better we can help.

the oil is RP 5w-20.the knock it has been there since before the oil change.
the knock is only at idle and with the car cold.once it gets to normal temperture it goes away.it feels like when a car is ideling at very low rpms and is about to die.but my idle is at 600 rpms.
the dragging chain noice is only when accelerating never at idle.is at light acceleration specialy between 1st to 3rd gear at normal speed.if i step on the gas i wont hear it since the engine starts to roar.

Maybe try taking the belt off before you start it cold and see if the noise is still there. If its gone then it is something driven by the belt!If it is still there could be from the motor.I remember seeing a tsb on noises from pullys on cold start,Or maybe it could be the plate between the transmission and motor!

ok the dragging chain noice to explain it better it sounds exactly as if my brake pad was leaning against the disk.like if something metal is spinning and another metal is toching it.
I have narrow it down to pulleys or brakes.
