Default Problems @ WOT

The past several months, I've had some problems with my GT.

For those of you that don't know me, I have a 2007 GT, Auto, S/C'ed and have had the S/C on for over 10K miles.

Lately, anytime you try to go WOT, from a roll or a dead stop, the car will not shift into the next gear, and will in fact bounce off the limiter. All the while, you can hear slight popping noises. So, I am guessing this means 1 or more spark plugs have blown out and are misfiring.

My Check engine light hasn't come on, so it doesn't look like my car is throwing any error codes. Does anyone have any idea on what this can be? Thanks everyone. I appreciate any and all help.

-Chris

all i can say is pull plugs and inspect, check TB connections, and reload tune.
I have a wierd issue at WOT that just started and occured twice. Its like the car wants to stay at WOT. once while messing around a second gear rip, clutched out to shift gears and removed gas and the car bounced off the limiter for about 3 seconds. then yesterday i was in 4th and went WOT to chase a yellow light and after l et off the car kept pulling for like 2 seconds.
Its not the floor mat as i even moved it completely out of the way after the first time. I will be reloading the tune but anyone else know whats going on???
sorry to hijack but hopefully we both get some better answers

hey Grabber, i apologize if this sounds
rediculous but check the fluid level.

the service manual has you do this for
a wide variety of tranny issues, including
delayed shifts.

What hammeron said and if the transmission isn't shifting, then it's the transmission or tune, but not the spark plugs.

So, if I check the fluid, and it turns out the fluid is level. Then, should I reload my original Vortech tune, and then reload my custom tune? Is that the best way? I figured the spark plugs were bad because of the popping noises that occurred. I'll check those things, and let you guys know. Thanks for the info

Moose- how's the stang running these days bro?

well as far as reloading tunes, i don't
think you need to load any other tunes,
except for the one you want.

i played with my tuner last fall and reloaded
my custom tune over and over without
loading any previous versions first.

the PCM uses various sensor inputs to
determine when to shift, so if your fluid
level checks out fine, it may be a
sensor, or an internal tranny problem.

Gotcha. I'll check the fluid, and reload my custom tune. I'll let ya know if it works.

Thanks again for your help Hammeron. I greatly appreciate the assistance. It sucks not being able to go WOT anymore.

yeah man realoading one tune is sufficent. all you need is to reload a tune just one. It wipes the previous "learned" data and reloads new fresh data...
good luck

Well,

I reloaded the tune, and the same thing. Won't let me go past 5K RPM, the engine kicks down.

So, it's either a vacuum leak, the throttle body needs cleaning, to the Bypass Valve. I'll check all of the possibilities and see what the hell is going on. Thanks again guys!
