Default Any way to smoothen out the Pro 5.0 kit shifting action?

I'm contemplating the daunting task of accessing the Pro 5.0 short shift mechanism in my car and figuring out a way to alleviate the notchy/stiff feel.

Any tips?

Or is this futile?

Thank you.

its futile becasue its not the shifters fault, its a result of the remote mount and the 3650 tranny

Wish I could make the 3rd and 5th shifts a little less tight and rough.

Like an above poster said give it some time it will loosen up. I've had mine for well over a year now and I really don't notice anything anymore.

How does it loosen up over time? I'd rather get it out, modify somehow and reinstall if possible. This is the notchiest shifter I've ever driven, not fun at all in the 2-3 shift which is really important. I've definitely gotten more used to it, but it still sucks. No reason for it to be this bad.

If I can't modify it, I think another option would be to remove it, sell it, and install something else. If it comes to that, what would you recommend for an '07 mod'd GT (no FI, so figure just about 60hp over stock). I just want something that's more fun to shift and isn't so rough.

I have the Pro 5.0 and it did get better with use. The shifter with the least notchiness is the Hurst.
