Default 4.6l 3v Cam swap

I own a 2006 Mustang GT and have been pondering the decision to upgrade my engine with bigger cams. However, I am new to this overhead cam engine and not too sure what type of lift to go with and how to deal with the VCT. Has anyone attempted this type of job and if so what is the recommended lift- keep in mind this is a daily driver.. Any tech support would be appreciated.

If you just want good power the FRPP Hot Rod cams are the way to go, no springs required or VCT tampering needed and I've seen a dozen cars with these gain 30 - 40 HP at the wheels.

My honest opinion for guys who want to mod but there cars are daily drivers and they are concerned with cost and warranty is to stick to minor bolt on performance and suspension mods and leave the engine and valve train alone.

Just my opinion...

You will only gain abot 10 RWHP with the FRPP Hot Rod cams. Trust me I have them and I do not regret it. They sound great and increased my overall power curve but peak HP was minor. Not trying to deter you from the mod but they are more for sound and minimal gains. Seat of the pants feel felt great but I think it was more from the dyno tune.
