Completed header install yesterday with a buddy of mine. Used a 2x4 and jacked up to the side of the oil pan where it bolts to the block. Worked like a charm. I was a bit nervous about it so as a backup i had a jack stand with a 2x4 on it just below the oil pan to "catch" the engine if anything went wrong. When jacking up on the side of the pan it will only jack up that side of the engine. We needed to lower it back down and jack up the other side to do the other header.

I'd rather do it by the side one end at a time if it comes to that.
My oil pan is cast aluminum. How do you crease cast aluminum.
Would it not crack before creasing like sheet metal oil pans of the past?

Lift it from above with an engine hoist?
Or use the 303-F072 3 Bar Support Kit from Ford?
It looks like it could easily be duplicated with some
square tubing, some all-thread, washers and some nuts.

Why is everyone coming at the problem from below?
Pull instead of pushing?

Everyone has a jack and a phone book or wood. Very few people have engine hoists. Dont worry, I never jack the pumpkin

Don't know. I think it might've been moose that ended up with the crease. Not sure though.

when I added Bassani LT's I got an instant bump in the butt dyno. But I was surprised to see it changed the sound very little. It got smoother, but not a bit louder or meaner.

Sound is fantastic. I think it really gives it more of the "old school" muscle car sound. I have the bassani x-pipe and it took away the high pitched raspy sound. You can hear the individual engine pulses as well. Also drone during highway cruising is gone.

I having an appointment for an update to my dyno tune tomorrow morning. I will update with results.

I am pretty disappointed with the dyno results. I gained 0.5 rwhp and lost 3.8 rwtq. The headers did gain 3 rwhp and 3 rwtq at the top end though. The a/f ratio was rich which is the opposite of what should happen with more air flow. I did change spark plugs (autolite HT1's) in between these tunes and never did check if they were gapped correctly before I put them in. I am wondering now if there weren't. Guess I'll have to pull one and find out.
