Default Gas Tank/Gauge Trouble

Lately my 05 has been having problems filling and reading the gas put in. Given there is a TSB on the gang tanks but I had the filler neck replaced and Ford said there isn't a problem with the gas tank. When filling up I have to constantly keep pumping because it clicks off many times and when I put the key in and start it up the meter takes 15-20mns to register the gas and move the gas needle accordingly. Any ideas? Thanks

Also, Ford recommended I use Chevron Techron in the tank when I fill up. I have used it 3 times and has reduced the amount of clicking off somewhat and minorly helped with the gauges I think.

The filling issue isn't always resolved by the TSB. Some have had success; others haven't.

I have issues with filling at specific pumps and have figured out a few work-arounds to mitigate the nuisance pump shutoffs. I guess we have to deal with it.

I run the Techron thru my tank about once every oil change (that's about every 8,000-10,000 miles) and I haven't experienced any issues with the gauge. I'm not sure if the TSB also covers the sending unit but it sounds like yours is simply sluggish for whatever reason. I suppose I could live with that, knowing it wouldn't take long for it to respond.

That's a good point, thanks.

How bout a plugged up EVAP canister or vent filter......
That would impede the flow of fuel down the 1" x 3' long
rollercoaster style fill hose....
