Headgaskets - Copper or Cometic
I have an 06 GT with a KB at 12psi. Just left half a sparkplug in the right head while checking the plugs at 60k. Since I'm going to take it apart I'm installing all the forged parts I've been collecting. I am lowering compression and am planning for considerably higher boost and have ARP2000 studs.
I'm trying to decide whether to use Cometic MLS or SCE solid copper head gaskets.
The car is used daily all year round in my business.
Any thoughts? Thanks!

I just read an article that recommended the copper gaskets for high boost applications and it said the Cometic MLS gaskets were a great choice too...... I bet any given shop (racing) would have there own preference but I am not sure. Wish I could find the article.
great read and all the FAQ's one could need

Seems either will work beautifully for your boosted application....what boost you plan on running after forging?

The SCE ICS Titan Head Gaskets have sealant pre-applied, have built-in o-rings, and according to SCE are fine for street use.
I have also read many stories where copper gaskets have wept but there are also differing opinions on what preparation they need. I don't want to deal with leaky gaskets.
Since the SCE's come prepared and do not require any special engine prep they seemed like a good choice.
Has anyone used these on the street?
