Default Supercharger Problems

so my cars been running weird for a while now. It turns out my supercharger was leaking the oil out of it and I've been driving it around with little to no oil inside it. I topped off the oil hoping my car would run better but the problem remained and the damage was done. Now when I start the car, the supercharger makes a clicking noise at idol. When driving, the supercharger makes a grinding noise around turns, and when i decelerate or shift. Kenne Bell said it would be 699$ to rebuild my supercharger. They also said they might charge me another 250$ if the bearings are shot.

So 700$ minimum and 950$ max to rebuild my supercharger. I obviously have to pull it off and send it to them too.

SO DEPRESSED! Don't really want to spend the money right now...

Is there a warranty? How many miles on it? It seems like leaking oil would be their fault?

They should at least check it out before telling you how much to fix it.

if its leaking bc of manufacture defect, they should replace it for free.

Even if it was KB's fault, they won't own up to it. Thats KB and thats why I don't own one........

yeah i don't know what to say.... They said they have to look at it before they can see what went wrong ( with their price quotes standing ofcourse).... I'm not sure if it was a manufacturer defect or a bad install; but i def. don't have a warranty. I bought the supercharger used for 3500 so maybe this is my luck running out on me... = /

short of dropping it on the ground I don't see what could be done during the install to mess it up to make it leak. my buddy's kit for his 04 came all preassemebled as far as the charger and intercooler, I'm assuming the 05+ kits are the same way. they do tell you to check the level of the oil in the charger fairly often, at least every time you change the oil in the motor.

I've only had good experiences with KB, hopefully they'll do you right but the situation does suck. unless there's a crack in the housing or something they'll probably say you just didn't check the oil level often enough

Over filling will make them leak .

FYI, Kb has been very up front with me on my problems. I have no complaints
