2nd IAT sensor?
I installed the IAT relocation kit on my car because I am running a Vortech V3 non-cooled kit. I installed it by using the GY and GY-RD wires that went to the MAF (which has an IAT sensor in it). The GY wire is the IAT SN input to the PCM and the GY-RD is the SIG RT to the PCM. Can anyone explain how this works? I now that the IAT sensor is like a 2-wire RTD (resistance temperature detection) that varies resistance based on temperature. How does this sensor interact with the PCM. The GY-RD wire looks like it is a common. I want to use the sensor in the MAF to record the IAT before the supercharger; does anyone know how I can use the IAT sensor for this purpose?
PMC]---GR-RD (5V)---[IAT sensor/thermistor]---GR (var voltage)---[PMC---Resistor---
The PMC has a resistor in it that is in series with the IAT sensor. The voltage is read across the resistor to calculate the air intake temperature. Now all I need to know is what the IAT sensor specifications or chart looks like.
