Default 4.6L New long thread style spark plugs?

I have been trying to find out after what point did they change the plug and head design to eliminate the crimped 2 pc style prone to breakage plugs.

Not to repeat what has already been stated above but, the plug design was changed for mid 2008. If your coil packs are black on top and have a brown boot you have the new plug design, if coil packs are all black, old design.

THe new (brown) coil packs start with '8' while the older (black) ones are '3'. That's what it says everywhere to know what plugs you need.
The newer ones are 12mm and the older ones are 16mm threads.
