And I'm NOT blaming the tuner either.

As mentioned earlier, the tranny has some weird effects on the PCM when shifting. Not to mention the tranny has to build line pressure almost immediately when you have O/D locked out and then let it shift.

You might have also bounced off the REV Limiter ontop of being at full boost and trying to shift. Way too many variables at work here. You should check with Brenspeed and make sure they know what happened. There might be some variable they could adjust at WOT for autos.

Besides, maybe they could give a few a hundred off that B302 block
I am no way blaming the tuner either. What happened was clearly driver error. I was pushing it and kinda knew of the consequences, though I never thought it would be what happened though. I don't remember bouncing off the limiter, though in the past I have though in a lower gear and only momentarily. Gonna chat with Brenspeed in the morning..

lol not sure about the B302 block or any other block for that matter. I may have to get a full oem long block in order to save on shipping. I need new heads as well, not just a short block.

On a side note, the damn ford tech service site is down and I have no access to the online GT workshop manual. I am at the Mercy of the Tim Gilles Automotive service text book lol
Got some good tips in there none the less...

Going built is no guarantee

I am on my second built motor after first went booooooom under high boost. We push the stock internals and sometimes we get unlucky and boooom. So you build up the motor, which is the green light to up the boost... so we're pushing the limits again. I know of quite a few folk who have lost built motors. Often times it's another system like fuel that leads to the motor failure. Mate of mine lost his built motor this week, after one of his GT500 pumps failed during a high boost strip run.

damn, second build??

I myself thought I was in the safe zone as well, not knowing that something else could be the culprit... when I am done, I may just do the whole CAI/tune for a while lol

edit:holy cow.. 10s?!

i think most people will tell you when you deal with boost, anything could happen no matter what level it is. It just takes a glitch somewhere and boom.

I just meant that in the other post you were wondering about how safe a tranny would be on a run and people were talking about 3rd gear servos. I just sorta saying now would be your chance to do it up since your motor would be out of the car.

true dat. For a second, I thought the IAT under the manifold somehow malfunction and didn't allow the pcm to pull timing quickly enough, that too was in tact..

no worries. Honestly, the motor is going to be the thing I am concentrating on and getting her up and running first before dong anything else. From what I had witnessed so far, the tranny is doing fine. To think, I got the auto to avoid any gear issues. I have dealt with 3rd gear/syncrho problems on my old car for a year and a half, one rebuild and 4 broken shift forks... history repeats itself eh? lol

I am willing to say that the set up I had was still perfectly safe. I just happened to drive it in an unsafe manner, especially messing with the OD at such delicate moments of power delivery. Overall, under "normal" circumstances, its still a (relatively) safe set up (4.10s/boost/automatic). Top end sucks though lol... nuff said.

Maybe not the best idea to run a supercharged car at full boost when it has never been dyno-tuned and you dont even have a clue what kind of air-fuel ratio you had.
How do you know this wasnt just a lean condition? What octane fuel were you running?

its a canned tune from Brenspeed and was "safe" from what I have been told. The tune is for 90 oct and the boost a pump was set to "max".. still no excuse to have an A/F gauge, I know..
