Default Top Speed question?

So I just found out today there is talk of building a mile long track in Wilmington OH where you can go ***** out for one mile to see what your top speed and get timed. Sorta like the salt flats on a vastly lesser scale.

That being said, made me start to wonder what my top speed would be? Car currently sits at 320.3 rwhp and 327 torque...It also has 4:10 gears which reduces that top speed, but also Comp cams so I can wind it up to 7k although I usually shift at 6500 under WOT. Running stock size Nittos so tire height wouldn't be an issue.

Who has done something like this before? Just curious what it's like and what people with similiar cars have trapped at 1 mile rather then the quarter.

Current mods are C@L cai, delete plates, comp thumpr cams, o/r H, Bassani exhaust, 4:10 gears, and pullies running on a dyno tune.

I was limited to a 145 indicated, I reckon a stock 05-10 GT would do around 155 or so without the limiter.

I would imagine you car will do somewhere in the 160+ mph range, but you may not reach it in one mile. Should be pretty close though.

I doubt he'd even come close to reaching his top speed on a mile long track... he still needs to slow down. :-)

Even if it's a 1 mile straight in addition to a braking zone, I'm still not sure he'd get too close... you cover a LOT of ground each second at 120mph+...

I agree that a 1 mile track would be cutting it close if not too short. With your mods, I'd say mid to upper 150's assuming you can overcome drag in 5th gear. 4th will redline way before that. With my 3.55's, I redline 4th at about 145.
