Supercharger
Hey Fellas,im lookin to get a supercharger for my 08 GT. My question for the Mustang world is WHICH ONE?? Ive done some research & this is what ive found. Roush M90 Chrome finish 435hp./400ft.lb.tq.$3700.00 w/ free shipping. The next one is a Roush R2300 Satin Black525-700hp. Not sure bout the torque on this one?$5899.00, Next & last is Ford Racing/Whipple-550hp/542ft.lb.tq. found it for $6989.00-6720.00&6600.00.What is the opinion of some of you Mustang guys that have experience with these things? i appreciate the input because im really green when it comes to these things!!!
i love the m90, i have it and the vmp 500hp kit and put down 420whp. you will soon hav ehaords tellgin you to go twin screw. if you plan on keeoig the internals stock, the m90 is the best bang for the buck by far. i love the blower its tons of fun!
It's really not something that everyone else can answer for you. What you need to do is try and find people fairly local to you and ride in their cars with different types of superchargers. Some people like the centrifugal ones which have a progressive boost based on engine rpms, some people like the twin screw/tvs ones like the roush/edelbrock, then there's the turbo option and the base roots style like the old magnacharger and roush m90.
Me personally, if I wasn't racing my car at the track as much as I do I probably would have gone with a centrifugal. If I had an auto I would have gone turbo but I ended up picking the Edelbrock E-force and it's working out well for me and my setup.

Most people only have experience with what they've got, and they'll tell you to get it because they love it. Let's face it, any of them are power adders and increase power over what you had.
There are options for the r2300 and whipple to up the boost and get the power north of 600HP (if and when you build the bottom end). I don't recall anyone getting the M90 above 500.
So if you think that you might get bored with 400-450 HP, then the M90 is probably not for you, but it is a heluva deal, and it's more power than most have.

Thanks for the response.i am planning on keepin the interns stock for a while so i will probally go with the m90.just dont know why the black is more than the chrome? want the black one but think i will have to live with the chrome for 2g's less!!!!!
All I know is the m90. Personally I didnt want to bother with the expense and worry of building my engine. The m90 allowed me to add a bunch of power without the worry of a blown motor. Of course it could still happen, but its unlikely. In case you havent heard one heres a short run down the track with my buddy filming.

the chrome ones were fro soem sort of project and then they closed them out so the price was way cheap. the black ones are staying around.
We have the same Whipple kit and I'm running 12 psi also. Thanks!
