COOLAN LEAK

COOLAN LEAK
I got home and notice that coolant was coming out from under the cap on the degas tank (aluminum). The temperature was around 205*. This has never happened before, is the thermostat shot or air in the system???. Thank for your help.

If so there could be air in the system. Second could be a failing cap if the car's beginning to overheat.
160* is too cold for a thermostat, especially if you live in a warmer climate. By dropping the temperature 20*, your thermostat will be open quicker/longer, thus leaving the coolant less time in the radiator to cool, which may lead to overheating problems because the cooling system cannot keep up.
If the factory thermostat is doing its job, you have a problem elsewhere.
