I just realized how heavy those damn 17x9 Cobra rims are I mounted the MT ET's on.

Sounds like a loaded question, but would mounting these MT's on 17x8.5 Black steel rims be a better choice? They're only like $110 a piece and weigh a 1/4 of what the Cobra rims do.

Those martha fawkers weigh a TON! Friggin' back hurts lugging them around rofl

Figure 10 lbs of wheel weight equals about 15 lbs chassis weight and go from there.

I don't know how much effect the half inch narrower would make - if it makes any measurable difference at all. Plan on tinkering with tire pressures, though.

I use the OEM 17" wheels. They are atleast half the weight of the big 18" Ford GT wheels I have.

I really should have dropped it down to 15 psi and see how well it launched..

I lowered it to 17 psi and it hooked better but ET's worse!

I hook well at 16 psi. 1.576 60', 2 step set at 3700, basically side stepping the clutch and going WOT on the last yellow. I also make 565 rwhp and around 530 rwtq @ 3700 RPMs. So it's a little different.

The reason it bogs is because you are not making enough power out of the hole to get the car going. This the benifit of having a TS blower instead of the Centri. To get that centri to work you need a big convertor in it to let the thing go. For grins I would take everything out of your car next time, front passenger seat, rear pad, rear stereo, 1/4 tank of fuel, unhook front sway bar, and try again.

With 4.10s and a big convertor it will wake up.

Try higher PSI in the tires so you don't get bogging or less of a burnout. You may only need to rub the rocks off of them. They will slip a little bit, but will let your RPMs stay up a tad and keep you closer to the power band. You will probably pick up ET and MPH. When you swap to a higher stall, you will probably keep the MPH, but drop ET.

Also, this is where a custom dyno tune will shine. A tuner can make your car make more power down low compared to a canned tune. I know your options are limited because of your location, but it's worth mentioning.

With 450 rwhp, good air (I consider 1500 DA pretty compared to my stuff) and the convertor, you should get an 11.50.

lo not sure about stripping out the car for a run or two. I want to make these runs full interior and modest boost

I am going to bring a tire pump with me the next time and play with the air pressure a little bit. I was a little hesitant on dropping the psi too much because the dang tire pressure gauge didn't read below 20 psi! and the that did had the numbers rubbing off.. I had to rely on the few notches below the 20 psi mark lol

.. when you guys said to launch off idle, you guys really did mean to launch idle didn't you? lol I have a very strong feeling I wasn't launching right at all last weekend, because when I said it "bogs", it literally would SIT at the tree for what seemed like 2 full seconds before anything happened. those 2.0 60 fts. weren't the tire roasting 2.0 60 fts. like on street tires, these ones were the slow kind rofl

Even with just NA (CAI/tune, 4.10s), off the line it would still roast the tires lol

If I can do that then, but not now with the blower and slicks.. something isn't right..

I would suggest tuning.
Canned tunes will make a pretty dyno number and have great drivability. A custom tune will make your car a beast. It is not apreciated until you expereince it.

I went from 540 rwhp to 565 rwhp. You would think I would maybe get a tenth or two? Wrong! I gained an average of .4. It was all in the tune.

If you have access to a dyno with an AF gauge, a laptop and the internet. I can set you up with my tuner. He can do remote tuning.

hmmm.... I possibly could get a hold of a dyno... I totally feel you about the dyno tuning issue. That's a great amount of power you got from yours. Me racing without a proper dyno tune is like whacking off to a pic of a hot girl when I could just have the hot girl rofl
