So the only reason I could see changing your tire revs in your tune would be cause you have an auto. It doesn't make a bit of difference with the stick, but the auto, being computer controled, it might affect it.

Go find a tire on tirerack.com with the same outside diameter and use that as the correct revs/mile.

Hopefully it will hold long enough to get a timeslip next summer when I try and race the car finally. I'd like to coast on the stock clutch for as long as I can. Not looking forward to putting a new one in - big time PITA job.

The fact I'm at 5000' or more of air will hopefully help cut down on some of the power it needs to hold. In truth the car is barely putting down 400 uncorrected, if even that. A 110 trap would have me just TICKLED.

I may do that later tonight...

I just mounted, balanced the MTs on the Cobra 17x9s.. aired them up to 20 psi, torqued them down and went out for a test drive...

WOW! MONEY WELL SPENT!

I was a little nervous about running them on the streets but it's 70 outside right now and dry as hell. I noticed that they do "travel" alot but that's a given with such a tire not to mention such a low psi compared to the fronts (40psi)

I launched them a few times, as well as punching it from 1st gear-2nd and this thing dead friggin' hooks! I didn't want any surprises at the track and I wanted to make sure that they were balanced perfectly, which they were. I barley got on the throttle and even then it felt like a totally different car!

I really should have just gotten these in May like I had planned but it's all good.. plenty of race season left!

I also did the fuel filter replacement and re-gapped the Brisk Racing one step colder plugs to .035.. low and behold.. it totally smoothed out my idle, from the previous .032. I forgot to do a brake fluid flush but I can do that later this week, it didn't look too bad. Neither did the fuel coming out the fuel lines, nor the spark plugs (surprisingly clean). I got the major things dealt with (trans flush/filter, oil change (motor/supercharger), brakes, tires. One thing I noticed that will be a pain is the Vortech Coolant canister relocation kit. It sits on the right side of the motor, blocking the right side valve cover.. when it's time for cams it's gonna be a PITA and another step.. oh well.

Thanks again for all your guys help on the advice on tires and launching!

I appreciate it!

No, the weather was not as cooperative as I wanted it to be. It was hot, DA was around 2500 with about a 15 mph head wind. I was only trapping 123.5ish. Normally I would be around 127. So a combination of heat and wind sucked the ET and MPH down.

I ran:

1st pass 11.28 (.008 light)
2nd pass missed 4th, looked like an 11.25 or so (.04 light)
3rd pass 11.24(.08 light)
4th pass 11.19 (Had a Bye the first round, dialed in 11.21) (1.576 60'-best ever)
5th pass dialed in 11.16, ripped the blower belt in half going into 4th. Car overheated a little bit. Good thing I had a spare belt. I had a good light too, .05 and a good 60' of 1.605. I was on track to run my dial but it didn't happen. Plus I was racing my neighbor who is always in the top 3 when they race.

Oh well.

I had to improvise to get the blower belt on. It was a biatch.

Damn .. you have a strong running car Simon

How did you put tension on the belt tensioner to get the belt on??

Dosen't sound like fun lulz

I wish I had better luck off the line.

2.0's all day long and a consistent 12.5@110mph (?!)

The good news is that the tires/rims had so much traction that it wouldn't even bark the tires loose! I was actually trying to get it to spin or at least launch more aggressivly.

I launched it off idle and all it does was bog. 20 psi to start, 17 psi at the end of the day. Felt really strong once it got into the power band but off the line I could count a full 1 one thousand, 2 one thousand and then the power would kick in.

Not terrible, but at least I know a torque converter, drive-shaft and cams will take care of the issue!

I think a convertor would do it.
