Exclamation Problem? During spark plug change.

Well, long story short I was removing a broken plug & I *think* I hit the throttle body with the torque wrench & this happened...

How much damage did I cause?

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pixs.

Keep the car parked, order a replacement, put it on, and you should be good to go.

Too late for that, it's been down for over 10 days after breaking 3 plugs & waiting on the Lisle tool to arrive. Finished up just about an hour ago or so & so far it seems to run just fine, no CELs or anything. I will probably still pick up a replacement to be on the safe side but i'd like to know what the purpose of that piece I broke was.
