2008 Mustang GT / Hesitation, rough idle on warm weather
#22
Very similar problem
I have the same symptoms with my 08 GT, except they don’t change with weather. I’ve been driving it like this for almost a year, so I’ve severely worn the clutch. It has little torque, and wants to stall until about 1200rpm. (I have a lot of hills in my area, so I have to slip the clutch while giving it gas or it will stall.) After 1800rpm, I have lots of torque and throttle response feels like it should. I’ve driven a few other manual cars, including a 96 Mustang, and I never have this kind of problem. Is this normal behavior for a 3v Mustang?
Thanks

Definitely not normal. My 3V pulls strongly and cleanly from 1000rpm. I suggest you buy an ELM 327 Bluetooth OBD 2 scanner (I have the Total Diagnostics version and it works flawlessly) that plugs into the underdash diagnostic port, download the Car Scanner app onto your smartphone, pair it up to your Bluetooth scanner, and use it to display live data. You can also record and save data files for later analysis. This should help you pinpoint the problem.
