Main Girdle
Hey folks,
I'm planning on installing the edelbrock e-force supercharger (kit from brenspeed: http://www.brenspeed.com/efstage1.html) to my 2010 GT. The only other mods will be JBA headers and Flowmasters.
In the "while I'm tearing this thing apart" category, what do you think of adding a main girdle as a bit of insurance to the bottom end? This is the one I'm eyeing: http://www.dssracing.com/D_S_S_Main_...System_s/6.htm
Now, I know that if I was building a BB or a 302/351W based motor, it's a no-brainer. You do it. What about modular motors? Is this just pissing away money?
Related to this: Could the oil pan be gotten off for installation easy enough if I were to unbolt the motor mounts and jack the engine up a few inches by the crank pully? Or perhaps invest in a cherry picker and get a few inches up that way?
All opinions are very much appreciated. Thank you!
Mike
