Ok, I'm a Mustang newbie, but have wired lots of things. First off, if you only have one hot wire, you will need to wire the guage into a "keyed" source. If you wire into the headlight switch, the guage will only work when the headlights are on. I'm assuming that the LEDs are the actual guage (like a radio display). Get yourself a cheap test light, you might be able to find a keyed source in your fuse box. Then you can use a spade on the end of your wire to plug it in. Using this method, I would recommend an in-line fuse. If not, you can use a radio wire or whatever. Don't worry about fuses if you are wiring into an existing wire, they are already fused.

Provided their rating is for a device that has a heavier draw.

Us the incoming lien to the headunit and you shouldn't have any issue. I had the same concern with the headlight switch of the gauge only being on when the headlights were on.

He said it was mechanical, this should mean that the power line is for lighting only? The gauge, i think, will still work if he wires it to the light switch and it's off.

The gauge itself should work just fine if I tap into the headlight switch since all it consists of is a nylon tube that attaches to a vacuum line then to the back of the gauge. If i'm right in my thinking, the headlight switch should be fine...I only want it to light up when the rest of my lights are on anyway.

Gotcha, missed the mechanical part. If it's me, I would tap into the headlight switch. Using a quick connect is a good idea. If you're using a guage pod, you don't have to run wires all over the place either.

Got it all wired up today, looks awesome. Though the nylon hose got kinked just behind the gauge so it stays at 0 unless I pull the pod out enough to straighten it. Will have to fix that tomorrow & get some ties of some sort to secure my connections. Anybody else have issues getting the ferrule onto the vacuum line? Not looking forward to trying to move it further back tomorrow.

Why do you want a boost gauge..... your sig does not mention FI?

Make sure you use some thread tape on the line and it'll stay in place.

Pulling the trigger on a Whipple in the near future...i'm just getting the little supporting mods out of the way. It's also a vacuum gauge so at least it's not completely useless in the meantime. Thanks for the help everybody!
