You're right at the HP limit with your stock shortblock. I have seen many cars blow at 500rwhp so I wouldn't go any higher until you are ready to build a now short block. Unless you are going for over 650 rwhp the stock crank will hold up fine as long as you keep the rpm down below 6500. The stock crank is actually very strong it just doesn't have the extra counter weight the forged crank does so it can't handle the higher RPM range.

I would build a new short block with a good set of H beam rods and some 2618 pistons with around -11 cc dish, which would give you about 9.2 compression ratio. Then go with a smaller pulley on your Whipple and an overdrive front damper, to run about 16# of boost on pump 93. This would put you in the 600 rwhp range that you want and be very street friendly. I would also ditch the cats as they will not hold up at these power levels.

I don't know if you've looked in to your H.O. SC but they are capable of 20# of boost on properly built engines. 16# will get you where you want to be so long as you build the internals to handle it. Some at higher levels change radiators and go to lower thermostats to keep engine heat under control. Cheap but helpful. You may also want to consider a larger oil cooler and a larger oil pan. Remember power (especially from forced induction) is inherently hot and will need to be cooled appropriately.

I'm going outside to spray out my wife's hairspray. Maybe that will help.

I'm surprised you haven't popped your engine with no real exhaust mods. You still have cats on right?
Crank is good for a good amount of power, is our poor poor rods that turn into U's at high power levels.

OP, you need a forged shortblock, as stated before, then just turn up the boost.

KY welcomes your high emission car with open arms.
Ive seen people driving around town on their spares, knowing they arent on the way to buy a replacement tire. Wonder how many miles they have put on it, and how long until itll pop.

To topic, ugh I just want the conservative 450 the block can handle and ill be fine for a while
