Default Roush Off Road Exhaust install

Put the new ROUSH Extreme Performance Exhaust on today. CAT back. No mufflers but resonators in the long pipe. Was three bolts to each side. Two after the H pipe location and one for the rear section. Took 15 minutes once on lift. Fit perfect. Very mean aggressive sound. Now trying to pick a cold air intake. Narrowed between Ford Bullitt and Roush. Like the looks of both but cant decide. Brenspeed has a combo on the Ford and Stage 3 has a tuner combo with the Roush. $30 difference which isnt a deciding factor..Just with Roush hood strut kit and Roush exhaust... but its a Ford car...

Do you have a hard on for ROUSH or something?

As far as intakes go, JLT & C&L are the most popular for the 3v.

I guess I do. Been a NASCAR fan for a long time and always liked anyone in a Roush ride. Being both companies are NASCAR supporters I like to spend my money there. Being most popular is not important.

Video of sound is better on Roush site. My cell phone didnt do it justice.

Well, for one the Roush CAI is not that great performance wise. You can tell because there is no tune required, which means there isn't a big enough difference to need to make changes to the ECU.

I'm sure the fit and finish are great, but a JLT or a C&L will get you more hp gains with a tune.

I would disagree on your reasoning. Most articles concerning CAI will say they perform just about the same and the tune is the real performance gain. Maybe the manufactor says it doesnt need a tune, but they could all use one to get performance. It's just a filter, and sure one might flow 10cfm more but with a stock motor and no tune, who cares. 3-5 hp will not be felt.

There is also somehing to be said with the performace parts matching.Who wants a car with a mismatch of goodies. Well some seeking ever last hp, but really I doubt even 10 hp difference is felt with stock applications. In racing, sure. But on the road, no.

Its about the MAF housing size and its limits. If the intake doesnt need a tune then the MAF housing is the same, and will limit the power you can get out of it.

Just get a JLT, looks better too.
