Default Need advice on rear end noise

I am hearing a "clunk" noise from what appears to be the rear end area on deceleration. I searched prior posts but didn't find anything matching.

When I slow down and start braking, it makes one or two "clunk" sounds like there is play in something. I'm thinking either the driveshaft, joints, or rear gears. Has anyone had this sypmtom and found out what it was?

If so, I would appreciate any info you would have, thanks.

It could be any of those or something else. First eliminate all the simple things. Check the entire exhaust. It really move under there. Mine ended up hitting the underside of my trunk. Header wrap solved my issue. Make sure nothing is rolling around in truck around the spare tire.

Make sure you auto trans is full of fluid. These autos do lose fluid especially when blown. When the fluid heats up it purges it out into the bell housing. JDM makes a nice trans catch can that solves this issue.

Make sure you rear end is full of fluid or just swap the fluid. Its easy to do.

The driveline on the S197's is pretty sloppy and some clunking is pretty normal. But you probably should rule out some worn/bad joints. I doubt it's the rear unless you've been really beating on it.
