Default What are the signs for a bad cv joint?

So I dropped my rear end out today in preparation for the new one and my jack decided it was tired and dropped. I had the drive shaft attached still but no bolts were in and I'm just afraid how hard the pinion flange popped out the cv that it might have damaged the cv joint but I'm not sure what to look for. Help is much appreciated! Thanks

The first sign is that mustangs do not have "CV" joints....I think you mean "Universal Joints." Do you see any signs of visible damage? What makes you think it is damaged? If there is no visible damage you should be ok..You will no if it is damaged when you drive it...

The stock drive shaft most certainly does have a CV joint at the rear.

OP, you'll know it when you drive the car! I'd be more worried you bent part of the drive shaft.

Even some of the aftermarket shafts have a cv joint at the pinion flange. The drive shaft shop is one such shaft. You can use a shaft with a U joint at each end, but your chances of vibrations are greater. I wish the DSS drive shaft was available when I was shopping.

It's all good, no problems driving only when I hit the gas after coasting I hear a clunk which is kind of weird but no vibrations.
