Default Metal Rattle When Accelerating

Over the past few weeks, a rattle has been getting worse when driving the mustang. It only happens when I get hard on the gas (at least half throttle), at around 3000ish rpms there is a slight metal rattle sound from the front half of the car. But if I slowly accelerate, the metal rattle doesn't occur. It is also after I am completely off the clutch for a few seconds, so I assume it is not transmission related, but I could be wrong. It almost sounds like a real faint metal on metal rattle and it only lasts for a brief second.

I will post a video soon to see if that helps anyone to help diagnose the noise. I would appreciate any help on trying to figure out what the cause is.

Thanks in advance.

Got to be somewhere with your exhaust...there was a tsb on the front h pipe mounts where you wrap hose clamps around them and cinch them down.

I'd bet it is something in the exhaust as well. Exhaust is notorious for rattles/buzzes.

Either exhaust or it could be related to the TSB for the tranny separater plate.

If you are 100% certain it's from the front, follow every one else's advice. If not, check the rear hangar brackets for your mufflers. Make sure the rubber bushing side with the protrusion/extension is facing your hangar, otherwise it will rattle when acceleration

And tighten all of the exhaust clamps. I know from experience that the axleback clamps can cause a metallic rattle if not torqued properly.

Thanks for the help everyone. After looking into the transmission seperator plate tsb, I think that the tsb sounds almost exactly like what I am experiencing. So I'll definitely have to get the mustang up on some jack stands and check that out. I'll tighten all my exhaust clamps too while I'm under there if any are loose. Hopefully that stops that annoying rattle!
