The evil 0340 code
Fellas,
I have been combating the evil 0340 code to no avail what so ever. I have already replaced the alternator and my cam position sensors. When I first threw the code the car was running which leads me to believe there shouldnt be any problems with wire continuity. I have researched this code on here pretty deeply and can't find sh*t else to check. It is driving me crazy! Can any of you give me some higher level expertise here?

Have the alternator tested (I know, you already replaced it) for excessive ripple. Rebuilt alternators AND Ford alternators are garbage. The only replacement I would trust is a PA Performance alternator.
Two things: Did you fully charge your battery before installing a new alternator? Alternators are made to maintain the charge not recharge the battery. You can burn up a new alt by making it recharge a poorly charged battery. Test the battery too.
Is it the same code as before?
I got areplacement alt from napa and it lasted 4 months. Just out a new one back in. We will see....
