I know this thread is a few months old but the final production is almost done for the new r-spec manifold for the 4.6l 3v. That manifold will allow you to run the 3.4l whipple with the crusher inlet. If you wanted to run the 4.0l it could be done but might need some modifications to the firewall. I am not interested in doing that right now so I am going with the 3.4l after much thought.

I should have my manifold in a few weeks. It is a production test run unit and as long as it specs out it should ship soon.

That kind of power is not easy to make or use tho. You need a serious trans, rear, fuel system etc. I am currently running a built 4r70w auto (in few hundred miles I broke it three times) finally figured out with all the bells and whistles, fully built rear, fore innovations return fuel system with dual walbro 465's and ID1000 injectors. I had been running e85 with my 2013 tvs (on my 4.6l 3v) and my tuner wants to see where we are with my injectors with the Whipple but we think we will need even larger injectors for that and the e85.

btw.. the id1000 are around $800 and the id2000 injectors are over $1900! It is no joke what you will spend to make over 800hp.. but can be done even easier now.

I purchased a JLT carbon fiber 155mm cai (yes, my 127 was too small lol) and will be running my L&M 72mm tb that I used on my 2013 TVS.

Of course, I have a built motor already but will be installing a 0-ring kit when I pull the motor in the next few days. Also modifying the front thrust bearing to a true dual bearing piece.. I-beam rods and already have a bunch of custom work done to the block. Will likely do a little more work to my Kellog crank and running the 2013 gt500 oil pump housing with TSS billet oil pump gears.

For heads I am going to have oversized exhaust valves done, open up the ports some more and have L&M send me some custom grind cams. May do this after we see where the blower gets me but I suspect the heads will be my restriction before the blower.

I am using 8.9 pistons with stock stroke (nice square motor and have zero desire to go with a stroker..).

I am currently running a meizer 20gpm water pump with a afco pro series heat exchanger with the dual 10" spal fans. This along with a 7 gallon custom tank in the trunk that I can also pack ice in at the track. Cooling can't be overlooked.

Other than that..

I just never was a big turbo guy... I know they can make insane power, just not for me. I have always trusted pd blowers and the simplicity/reliability.

Department of Boost is the company producing the manifold. It is a pretty new company but have about 150 manifolds out so far and pretty solid.
