91 Octane Race Tune - Is the car running hotter?
So I got my 91 Octane Race tune and i'm loving it. One thing I realized now that I have the tune is that my car seems to be running hotter. My fans are always on when i'm driving, and I always here them at a stoplight with the windows down. On the stock tune they would never turn on unless I idled my car for awhile. I have the Royal Purple coolant additive and my car only has 39,000 miles so my coolant is still pretty new.
Is this something they do to keep the car cooler? I'm going to be gold wrapping my intake to keep the hot air coming from the radiator fans from bouncing on the intake and making it hot. But if i'm not mistaken fans turn on at about 195-210 degrees and isn't operating temperature like 180-185?

pretty sure they change the fans to come on and stay on more often,
and unless the cai can seal perfectly and keep engine bay air from entering the wrap wont do much, if any at all since the air doesnt contact the cai's wall's for long before entering the intake

+1 on the tune setting the fans. You should be able to manually change them yourself as it is one of the (few) user-adjustable settings on my SCT II.
The intake plenum wrap is useless. The whole idea of gaining power due to the intake plenum is all hype. And even if you cooled it down by a few degrees you wouldn't see it on a dyno anyway.
