Default Help identifying this hose/fitting

While removing the heads I got a little distracted and this hose got pumped by my assistant. Not big deal but we think we heard a metal piece pop off. Can anyone verify if there is suppose to be a clamp or fitting holding this on and what that would be? Maybe we're just paranoid but better safe than sorry

The hose in the valley of the engine is part of the heater hose assembly that runs from the water crossover at the front of the engine to the heater hoses on the firewall.

Should it have any kind of fitting or clamp on it? Or does it just slide into position
