Bolt pattern?

Bolt pattern?
I am wondering if I have a 4.25 or 4.5 bolt pattern? My car is a 1988 LX. How can I measure this myself? Is it from lug to lug or across the lugs?

Usually criss-cross, but the bolt pattern on these is a square so it doesn't matter.[8D]
