Ran across this on my MG forum as a link to a guy who painted his with roller. Don't judge too soon. Came out good from pictures. That is reason to post maybe a option for the ones broke like me.

I just spotted it. I thought you done differant way. Oh well. I thought it came out pretty gone. I had seen and read yours long ago.

Mine did turn out good but I didnt like the look of it so I said f-it and primed it... Now I have to blast my car down and re-do it because rust is a bitch lol

Redo all that work!! Why not invest in some high quality primer with rust prevention and have it done and over with?

I know there was rust I missed, so I did a cheapy to have it look good for summer and then strip the whole bottom of the car and epoxy it, then body work, then paint it.

I was young and stupid back then (still young, not so stupid) and I've learned. Now I need to buy an air compressor and then I'll be set for working on the body (Might replace the doors...)
