Hi, i was wondering if somebody could help.... i now this is a Mustang forum but since i own 3 stangs i felt free to post this, its like a mad idea...
I want to swap all the goodies (engine, transmision and rearaxle) from a 88 T-bird TurboCoupe to a 1996 Probe, maybe somebody ¨been there done that¨ or something similar.
I guess it would be a heck of a proyect i was going to do the swap with a Taurus SHO but FWD its not such as fun as a RWD and engines intake its to big to fit under the hood

For the price and time of doing that swap, you could put one hell of an engine in that Probe.

mmm wich other engine you have in mind? i want it to be kind a sleeper and i can get the T-bird for $400 bucks. i already have the probe with no engine or trans on it i've seen videos of a 1st gen Probe with a Supra engine and it runs 9's i just want to be in the 12's zone and being Ford to the Bone it had to be a Ford engine so wish me luck

Like side above, for the price you will pay to get it to fit, tune it, etc. etc. You could have a killer engine from another car in there (probe, or what not)

those are rwd right? what about a v6 outta mustang there was an article in mm&ff about sum guy who had a v6 mustang in the 9's and they just ran an article about all sorts of hop up parts for em. so you could def make it go

noup they're FWD thay came out with a 2.0L 4 cil and a 2.5L 6cil i guess i'll just figure myself out i don't like V6 only the SHO one now those have potential!

Well now I don't feel so bad for trying to see what it would take to toss a Lincoln MarkVIII 32 valve 4.6 in my car!!!!

I've seen those modular motors in fox body's. Very cramped but the power potential from those things is crazy.

I also knew a guy with a 97' Probe 24v V6. I remember that this scooted pretty good.

anybody seen the new car and driver with thenobel m400 i think. its ogt a twin turboed taurus 3.0 init.makes liek 425 horse and 0-60 in 3.3 seconds.
