Don't forget that your engine does not have forged pistons. Also get the vam and computer you will need them. You might want to check the turbo motor and repair it. White smokes sound like water into combustion chamber. He may have not got head gasket correct or like in my case one turbo motor motor I got vac line to wastegate not hooked up and blew headgasket.

Maybe t-bird will know what to look at for white smoke after a headgasket head change. Still sounds good if price is right is it a whole car? If it is get whole car get it running no white smoke in that body then one weekend with help. Put in your car.

Cracked head, not torqued right, or needs surfaced. Same could be wrong with the block instead of the head. Or maybe he just sucks at installing. Since he replaced the gasket & head I'd go with not installing them right or the block needed surfaced or is cracked (i'm gonna say that's highly unlikely)

Don't snooze too long I did and 2 cheap turbo motors are gone and I only wait till end of month for money. At least get price nail him down and at least make down payment. If too much at least you know now and keep looking. And I agree with FoxGt we are dealing with a boost motor he may not have torqued correct or the other things FoxGt said.
