Second source I found. Check article about bad vam. www.merkurxr4ti.com/ref/merkur.pdf I know for merkur but is for a 2.3 turbo. PS found to mention don't give up too close now to quit. I felt like quiting after 2 bad c-3 trans. Only thing bugging me know is oil leak can't find only under boost near can tell. Seems to be coming from front bottom half of block oil soaked and rest of bottom of car. You got any idea. I am about to tear down. New front crank seal and aux seal.

bap sensor isn't connected to vacuum, just the plug.
I'll try making another ground to run somewhere tomorrow.

how much you want for vam?

I'll see what I can rig up to check for vacuum leaks. Obviously, the engine is rather loud to hear too many hissing noises.

& it's not really a matter of me giving up this project this close, I'm not going to give up on it at all. It's just I may have to leave state for a while to go to work for a while. just may have to postpone it for a while.
what really gets me about this is I know it's something stupid I keep overlooking. this shouldn't be this hard to figure out.

thanks guys for the help. couldn't have got this far w/o you.
& ty for posting on turboford sleeper.

Still try pulling wires off injectors see if makes a differance. I know after 2700 to 3000 rpm the computer goes to open or close loop. Sorry can't remember whick way. Any way after that computer ignores a lotI think 0-2 sensor and more sensor and goes to map in computer. In other words richens the fuel. Moving the vam should make a difference. Page 19 here is where to test a the van and all the other sensors. www.rothfam.com/svo/reference/sensors.pdf Also I assume map/bap sensor not hooked to vacumn. Also pin 49 wire goes to input of turbo not to any other ground. Have you got full 12vdc to proper pin of computer. If small vam is bad I got spare I am positive is good was on my car before I went to big vam. Is ground wire from motor to body installed. Also read haven't done to mine yet a extra ground fron intake to negative battery is good idea.
I'll give the sensors another look later. Perhaps bad wiring.

ok....
compression
70, 85, 95, 90

codes:
15
15
46
64
65

I did it twice... the first time 64 flashed, the 2nd time 65 flashed.
I'm not really sure what 46 is.

Compression seems low. Also are you sure you wired everything up right?

i thought so... what do all those mean?

I looked at the wiring diagram & how to repin the, it didn't require me to repin it. the pc1 & '84 capri rs wiring harness were pinned right already (so it appeared on the site i was looking at)

What do you mean? Your compression??? Your codes??? Wiring??? What???

Compression - I read its suppose to be 150 psi (rebuilt engine)
Codes - Check, I just answered them for you (code 15 should be a sign that either your wiring is wrong or you dissconnected the battery)
Wiring - Chould be right, could be wrong. What computer do you have and what wiring harness?

15 - Now constent memory. Either a bad connection or you unplugged the battery

46 - IDK, have to talk to someone who has dealt with this code[&:]

64 - Either a loose vam connection, wrong vam connection, or a dead vam

65 - Fuel injector never went closed loop
