Smile Valve train Tick

Greetings =)

1993 Mustang LX 2.3l Hatch

Mods
t5 swap
ranger headers
sway bars

Problem
There's a tick coming from the valve cover at idle that becomes louder upon accelerating. Most apparent when the engine is warm. Valve timing is correct. I will soon be taking off the valve cover to see whats up. What are some possible causes of a tick and what should I look for when examining the valve train?

Thanks
