if you are stock or near stock no point on taking it up that high. when you do you go slower
now if you changed the rpm range then yes you will need to rev

well most people on here dont know and dont care, they think just because redline is 6k that is where they shift at. there is no piont in taking a stock cam motor past 5k.

Man this is a good post,
I had fun reading all you guys' posts lol.
I live in Los Angeles california, and theres alot of cops and I'm like, the ONLY nice 5.0 in my whole area, so cops watch me closely cause I got a sick sounding exhaust. I got a E303 cam, 1 5/8 headers, 2 1/2 h pipe with dual chamber flowmasters and this thing sound sick so I have to take it easy alot- so I'd say maybe around 2,500 to 3,000 rpm when i'm normally driving, but if the cops are around then its neutral LOL, my car's heavy so I can basically drive through a whole street on neutral, lol.
But when I get on the freeway and I punch it, ( this has been alot recently 'cause I'm trying to see if I can pin point the reason why my engine/tranny/driveshaft shakes over 300 rpm) its a whole other story, I live really close to the freeway, and the freeway entrances are basically like a L , you enter at the small leg of the L, facing forward to traffic of course and you jump in when its safe. So sometimes I pretend I'm at the track and I floor it and shift at like 5,000-5,200 RPM, but man it feels so sweet. I haven't done any power shifting yet, cause I don't feel I'm quite ready for it with all the little tweaks and stuff that my car needs so I'm holding off on it. But I think once I get this shaking issue over with and I'm certain my clutch is what I smell burning when I drive hard, I might have to test that power shifting at like 2 in the morning or so =)
Benjamin- Fun posts, I liked this one alot 'cause no one got arguementative or tried to out do anyone lol
