a/c removal help

Default a/c removal help

I know I have to decharge the a/c but is that somthing I can do, or do I have to take it to a mechanic? Basically any help with the project would be helpful. Thanx

They suggest using a kit for it. It is however R134 so it's not as dangerous to the ozone as the R12. The problem you will run into is the green oil thats inside the system. It will get everywhere if you do it yourself. Just be ready for a mess if you decide to do it.

yeah the green gas is called freon i used to work for an ac company. haha we had to use it to fill a flat tire on one of the work fans when we got a flat.

I did my own discharge I just put a rag over the high pressure line and pushed the button untill all the freon was gone
