Heres a good site that might help you with your decision.

www.jason.fletcher.net/tech/efi-carb/efi-carb.htm

If you check the rest of the site out, it has some good 5.0 info
Link no good

some good stuff on the site.. has a test for 8 different roller cams thats pretty interesting. As far as an intake, edelbrock RPM air gap intake's are pretty sweet. If you have a few extra bucks (like 50-100) you can get it polished from edelbrock. As far as tuneability, if your going to drive it daily, i would get an edelbrock 600 electric choke, or 650 thunder avs electric choke. The thunder costs a bit more, but has more tuneing options than the 600, but both are pretty easily adjustable, and it pretty self efficient, so you won't have to adjust it every day, and they come from factory tuned to work with other edelbrock parts. If your going for power, then do some research on working on carbs so you can change jets/rods and such to fine tune it yourself to your needs.

Everybody has there own opinion about carbs. I personally LOVE a Holley. The Street Avenger series is awsome for beginer carb people. I have a Holley on all of my vehicles except for my Nissan Frontier.

I like the holley's since they've dealt with the power valve issue. I went with the edelbrock since i use the rpm intake so it all matches. looks cool that way :P. I got the elite series air cleaner and valve covers that i painted to match my engine (when i get the engine finished). i went with the ford red since all my previous engines went ford blue. Sometime next year i'll have enough money to finish hopefully
