Default quick qustion

almost 2 months ago while i was driving to work i started to hear a loud taping noise, and i drove 2 more miles to my bosses house. got it towed back to my house at the end of the day and pulled the motor and found out that i broke my oil pump shaft. when i found that out i was going to replace my cam bearings, rings, main+rod bearings. but now i dont really have the money to replace the cam bearigs and rings. my question is from driving it that far do you think it did any damage to the cam and rings? when i bought the car the guy told me that the engine was rebuilt when he got it (which was a year ago) and he only drove it in the warmer months. im still going to replace the main+rod bearigs but im not shure if i did any damage to the other stuff.

tough call, 2 miles is a lot of miles with no oil pressure, i would do a complete rebuild.

I agree with preciousroy a full rebuild would be smart since you dont know what might be damaged if anything. I say it is your call it might be ok then on the other hand you may do worse damage.

I have to agree especially on the piston rings, no oil pressure with metal scraping metal.........I know money is an issue but it would be cheaper to wait until you can do it right than having to do it twice jmo.
