Default 5.0 motor mounts trouble!

i just purchased a 91 5.0 with a .030 overbore, for $150. it had everything except for the heads and intake. i was breaking the motor down to sell the innerds (going to stroke it to 347) and noticed one of the 2 sopts on one side of the motor where the mounts bolt in was partially broken off. i think there's about 3 threads left in the block, not enough to hold securly. i'm wondering if i should have the mount welded on or dump the block and try and get my money back on the parts? any suggestions?

You should be able to find a machine shop that can take it out for you if you can get it out yourself. There is a drill bit made for this type of problem that is reversed so when you drill into the bolt, it will back out the broken bolt. i would try that first, then the machine shop.

I don't know how easy, reliable it would be to have it fixed. It would probably require welding and redrilling & tapping the hole. 302 roller blocks are a dime a dozen, may be more economical to get another.

How about a pic of that stang in your sig!
