a cammed street car should have a stall around 3000-3500 and a stock car around 1800.

bull$hit i have a stock motored car and a 3000stall street edge 9.5" converter and its awesome 1.69 60ft on motor and 1.50 60ft on spray.

Well I take it you have some really steep gears and from your picture, slicks, and in your postion you would benefit from a torque converter. And since his car is stock I am assuming he probabley does not have some crazy rearend gear and a pair of slicks. And the only other benefit of putting a high stall converter is to match a cam. But then again I guess a 3000 stall isnt really to high considering mine is 3500. But if he plans to add mods like gears and a cam by all means put the converter in.

wasnt trying to be mean but the stock converter is 1800. and yes all my runs are on drag radials not regular street radials. i would never consider anything less than 2800 on a stock mustang.h/c/i car nothing less than 3400.

yeah put a stock t-5 in and drive it like i do and it might last a year and it wont be near as consistant.

sticks are more fun for street driving but at the track i like having a automatic that i can shift myself
