RE: Launching and AOD
rev just off idle 1000rpms then on the last yellow stomp while letting off the brake. best i could muster with the stock converter was a 1.98 60ft once and alot of 2.0's
a good converter will make it fun.

RE: Launching and AOD
there is nothing wrong with running an automatic. I love these guys that bash autos, when an automatic is set up properly it will smash a stick (depending on driver). I have a 94 5.0 thats an aod-e ( auto) completley built, with a manual valve body, 2500 stall converter in it and a b&m shift kit, with a b&m cooler. AUTOMATIC= NOT MISSING A SHIFT.. if i had a couple bucks for everytime a raced someone who blew it cause " they missed a shift" or "there clutch is slipping" i would be a rich man.... you dont need to convert your car and be like everyone else (nothing against 5 or 6 speeds). Be a little different and build it.....

RE: Launching and AOD
1999 S15 Silvia SR20DET Specs: 250HP, All specs same except for following changes: Turbo: Ball bearing Garret T28 exhaust,T3 compressor wheel. Injector size: 480cc/min Stronger rods, improved crank bearings 6spd manual transmission The 6spd can be used on the S13 and S14 motors with no modifications, although racers and drifters in Japan swap out the factory S15 transmission and put in the S14 SR tranny. The gears are a shorter width in the 6spd so that they fit inside the housing. Because of that the gears are weaker, and they are having problems of breaking them.
