Default New Cam, new Lifters?

Hey all, I'm gettin a new cam and I was just wondering if its necessary to replace the lifters. For people that dont know its a roller cam. Thanks in advance.

Hyd roller or solid? What cam type are you changing to and from?

its a hydraulic roller. As of right now I'm goin from a stock Cobra cam to a Crane Powermax 2031 compucam...

If your going from a HYD roller to a HYD roller, no, you don't *need* to change them. Would it be a good idea to change them while it's apart... I think so.

yes they're both HYD rollers, i know the cam and lifters doesnt wear like on a flat tappet, but i wasnt sure if it was really that big of a deal

if they dont look damaged the lifters can be re used.

I was told by a very good friend of mine who professionally builds cars that you need to replace the lifters while you're at it.

If you have a lifter crap out it'll cause some big problems.

Do it while you've got it apart...Ford Racing Lifter from Summit are only $105.

I'm w/ Grimace... Unless they are relatively new--less than 15k miles, save yourself the trouble down the road and replace them while you're in there now.

Replace the lifters. They are not relly that much $$$.
Lot cheaper than wasting a short block.......
